About Us

Denise and Danny - N.Z.Ch. Ragtime Royal Seal(Imp.U.K.) at home

Hi, my name is Denise and I live with my husband, Neville, on a lifestyle block in the country near Palmerston North in the North Island of New Zealand.

I have been a successful breeder of Rough Coated (Lassie) Collies for many years having had many show successes and I am a New Zealand Kennel Club qualified Championship Show judge.   It was on a judging trip to the South Island that I first encountered the Ragdoll Cat as I was staying with a friend who owned one.  I was so impressed with this beautiful boy that I decided then and there that one day I too would have one of these fabulous cats.

Merlin - Bluepoint neuter - Pr. Ragaffairo The Wizard at Jaymlyn

It was another couple of years before I was able to fulfill this dream and a delightful bluepoint neutered boy came to join the family.

I had been warned that Ragdolls are addictive and so it proved!

It wasn't long before I decided that I would like to breed these beautiful cats and a little blue mitted girl who was destined to be my foundation breeding queen also joined us.

Sasha - Seal pointed at 10 months - Jaymlyn Sealed with a Kiss

At Jaymlyndols our aim is to breed large, happy, healthy, loving and lovable Ragdolls with the typical laidback Ragdoll temperament and who will give many years of devotion to their adopted families.   To this end we prefer to limit the number of litters we breed and to breed our queens only once a year. By doing this we are able to enjoy each and every litter to the fullest and to give the utmost in love, time and attention to each individual kitten so they have every opportunity to develop to their fullest potential.

Our queens all live in the house and the kittens are raised as part of the family - which also includes the collies.

Holly - Seal Mitted at 3 months

All kittens bred at Jaymlyndols are registered with the New Zealand Cat Fancy and when they leave us for their new homes at about 12 weeks of age they will have received the very best in love, attention and socialization in preparation for the life ahead of them.   They will have been fully vaccinated, wormed and desexed and this is included in the purchase price.   Kittens leave for their new homes with a folder containing information about the breed, their pedigree and vaccination certificate, samples of the foods they have been used to, some favourite toys and a cuddly rug.  They will have been vet checked prior to leaving and we offer a health guarantee against congenital defects and diseases.

Danny at his raggy best - Sealpoint Male - N.Z.Ch. Ragtime Royal Seal(Imp.U.K.)

At Jaymlyndols we have taken great care in selecting our breeding cats from only the best bloodlines consistently breeding large healthy cats with the required laidback Ragdoll temperament and are confident that our kittens will give many years of loving companionship to their prospective owners.

In October 2002 when I was visiting New South Wales, Australia to judge a Collie show, I had the opportunity to visit a cattery breeding Norwegian Forest Cats. Prior to this I had heard and read a lot about this wonderful natural breed but until then had not had the opportunity to see any in the flesh. These cats were everything and more than I expected and I am delighted to have had three Norwegian Forest Cats join our feline family. I am excited at the prospect of breeding these stunning, natural cats in their vast array of colours and patterns.
